REMEDY GREEN AMMONIA
The challenge
Climate change ushers the urgency for mankind to partake in the environmental protection of mother earth. Demands to reduce GHG emissions are ceaselessly amplified and urge mankind to be vigilant and committed about protecting and conserving our natural resources to ensure and uphold clean, safe and sustainable environment for present and future generations. To prevent the worsening impact of climate change, the Government of Canada is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Our Solution
REMEDY Green Ammonia Technology plays a role in overcoming environmental challenges.
Our innovative REMEDY Green Ammonia Technology represents a clear direction towards green fertilizer production using nitrogen from the air and hydrogen from water instead of fossil fuels.
The product represents a significant leap towards sustainability in the fertilizer industry, while offering an exciting opportunity for collaboration between the fertilizer and energy markets.
In a world where environmental concerns is in the forefront, innovative solutions that marry economic growth with ecological responsibility are more critical than ever. The agricultural sector, a cornerstone of global sustenance, has long grappled with the ecological consequences of conventional fertilizer production methods reliant on fossil fuels. Enter REMEDY Green Ammonia Technology, a revolutionary stride towards sustainable fertilizer production that harnesses the power of hydrogen from water and nitrogen from the air.
SOME FACTS ABOUT FERTILIZERS
Global
In 2022, the global production of ammonia was estimated at some 150 million metric tons. East Asia was the region with the highest production of ammonia with approximately 64.6 million metric tons. China alone produced roughly 42 million metric tons of ammonia.
Canada
Canada ranks in the top ten countries in the world for ammonia, with 3.9 million metric tons produced in 2020. Alberta is the leading province in this regard, producing about 3.5 million metric tons of ammonia per year.
Fertilizer
About 90% of the ammonia produced today is used for fertilizer, which helps sustain food production for billions of people around the world and yet ammonia production causes 1% of the total global GHG emissions. This is mostly because traditional ammonia production uses fossil fuels.
Green Ammonia Production
The temperature and pressure needed for the hydrogen-nitrogen reaction during the ammonia synthesis loop will be powered using sustainable energy, such as wind or solar energy.
Green ammonia as a renewable feedstock for fertilizer plants
Ammonia is the main building block for all nitrogen fertilizers. Nitrogen is a primary nutrient for plants and plays a vital role in food production and feeding the rapid global population growth. Green ammonia can be used as a renewable feedstock for fertilizer plants to produce nitrogen fertilizers.
